Vrsac hill, slope of the Carpathian Mountains, is well-known for its mild climate and wide range of medical herbs. For rich orinto culture the Vrsac hill became in 2000 Important Bird Area in Europe. Most of forest on the Vrsac hill is protected area for its unique position in the Panonian Basin, diversity of flora and vegetation, rich forest ecosystem, beautiful landscape. The Vrsac hill is ideal for excursions, recreation, long walks, but also for more dynamic activities such as paragliding.
Bird fauna of the Vrsac hill is extremely rich and has about 130 spices, especially forest birds such as woodcock, black woodpecker, and mountain colorful woodpecker and Ficedula albicollis. Neighborhoods Carpathian brings some species which are unique in Vrsac in whole Vojvodina such as brambling, mountain woodpecker and spotted eagle. There are also Ural howl and Levant Sparrowhawk. Over 90 bird spices on the Vrsac hill are protected.
On the Vrsac hill live doe, wild boars, hares, wildcats, foxes and rarely wolves. In Vrsac live squirrels and dormice. In Serbia only in Vrsac (in “Mali Rit”) live snipes. From snake species there are grass snakes, Vipera berus, Anguidae and Aesculapian snakes. In rivers and channels there live:
